Networx reports 450 jobs and $67 million investment in Sullivan County at commission meeting

Clay Walker of Networx delivered an annual update to the Sullivan County Commission, reporting new business recruitment, job totals and investment figures for the county.
Walker said Networx and regional partners worked with four companies during the year, including A.Y. McDonald, Vulcan Thermal, Sherry Logistics and a nano-manufacturing project; the engagements collectively produced about 450 jobs and roughly $67 million in private investment, he said. Walker also cited a 5.2% increase in wages across Sullivan County and a 2.2% employment increase; he noted the countygross domestic product as reported in state data.
Walker described ongoing workforce-development efforts, including $150,000 in current workforce grants and about $3.5 million in development grants in progress, and said Networx continues to work with local school systems and community college partners on virtual training and other programs.
