The Bradley County Planning Commission elected Josh Rogers as chair, Max Phillips as vice chair and Janie Bishop as secretary during its regularly scheduled meeting.
The commission also approved the minutes from the previous meeting before beginning the substantive agenda. The presiding member said, “We do have a quorum. Thank you for being here.”
The commission opened nominations for the three officer slots. A motion to close nominations was made and seconded for each office before the commission took a roll call vote. The roll calls recorded a majority in favor of the three nominees. Richard Burnett registered an abstention on at least one vote during the meeting; no other dissenting votes were recorded during the elections.
The commission’s clerk called the roll for each office after nominations were closed. Following the officer elections, the presiding member welcomed newly appointed member Joe Lee to the commission.
The commission moved on to agenda business after the elections and approval of the minutes. During closing remarks members were reminded to submit a statement of interest by the Jan. 31 deadline.
