The California Victim Compensation Board on Jan. 16 received an executive‑officer update on agency finances, program changes and a new strategic plan tied to CalVCB’s 60th anniversary.
Executive Officer Linda Gliede told the board the Department of Finance’s first estimate of Proposition 47 savings for the current cycle is $88,300,000; CalVCB receives 10 percent of that amount, or $8,830,000. Gliede said that figure is roughly $600,000 lower than last year’s estimate and could decline further as implementation of Proposition 36 continues. "We do think that number will go down as the implementation of Prop 36 takes effect," she said.
