County staff correct scrivener's errors in ARPA agreements with Beacon and convention-center manager

County staff told the Monroe County Board of Commissioners they would correct scrivener's errors in two American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) agreements: one that incorrectly referenced a different vendor instead of Beacon, and a second that did not reflect the convention-center management company's filed legal name.
Mr. Cockrell explained that the Beacon contract used boilerplate language that still referenced a different vendor; the county will correct that reference to show Beacon as the contracting vendor. Staff also said the convention-center management company's legal entity name as filed with the Secretary of State does not include "Monroe County," and the county will update its documents to reflect the exact filed name.
Staff noted that the convention-center management company is a for-profit entity and a wholly owned subsidiary of Downtown Bloomington Inc., which is a nonprofit. County staff characterized these items as clerical corrections and said none of the three agenda items required a board vote; commissioners agreed and recorded no vote for these items.
No financial terms, contract numbers or further substantive changes to the agreements were provided during the meeting. Staff said the corrections were to ensure the county record matches the vendor and entity filings when the documents are finalized.
