Council approves youth program standards, drainage and HVAC contracts, permanent generator purchase and library board appointment

The North Richland Hills City Council on Jan. 13 approved a package of operational and capital actions, including readoption of youth program standards of care, several construction and procurement contracts, and a library board appointment. All recorded votes referenced in the meeting minutes and transcript passed unanimously, 6-0.

Youth program standards: The council held a public hearing and approved Ordinance No. 3884 readopting the city's Parks and Recreation youth program standards of care, required for the department's exemption from Texas Department of Family and Protective Services day-care licensing. Adrienne (parks staff) told the council the standards are provided to parents at registration and are reviewed annually; staff recommended adoption and the council approved the ordinance. Motion to adopt was made by Council member Compton and seconded by Council member Tito Rodriguez; the motion passed 6-0.

Drainage contract (RFP25-6): Public Works recommended awarding the FY24 miscellaneous drainage improvements (Heidelberg Court and Colorado Boulevard) to TexPro Construction LLC, the lowest responsible bidder, for $193,705. Nathan…
