Gonzalez estimated the study would likely cost “over a $100,000.”
Committee members asked whether a pilot could test the configuration but staff said the corridor‑wide changes would require signalization and coordination at many intersections, making a limited pilot more complex than previous small‑scale pilots. The committee agreed to request the study, identify funding, and seek FDOT concurrence on methodology.
The motion was carried by acclamation and staff will advance scope development, funding identification and FDOT coordination for the traffic analysis.
