Round Rock mayor honors middle-school founder of TLEEM student nonprofit

Mayor Craig Morgan presented special recognition to middle-school student Arjun Sharda on Monday for founding the nonprofit TLEEM (Technology, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Engineering and Mathematics). The mayor commended Sharda for his dedication and service to the community.
Arjun Sharda, who moved to Round Rock from Leander in late 2023, told the council he started TLEEM at age 12 as a small school club at Brushy Middle School and built it into chapters in the United States and India. "Impact matters more than money," Sharda told the council. "I could fundraise $1,000,000 but helping 20 people in the city of Round Rock ... impact matters more than money." He said the organization now supports more than 1,000 people and that he received a student hero award from the State Board of Education.
Council members praised Sharda's initiative and encouraged him to remain engaged with the city as he continues his work. The mayor and several council members offered congratulations; the recognition concluded with applause and remarks from council members who described the student as an example for the community.
No official council action or funding was associated with the recognition; it was a ceremonial item on the agenda.
