Washington County highway staff told the Highway Committee that two items in the most recent highway quarterly report were marked as completed in the packet but are not finished.
The committee heard that the county completed its intersection safety plan and its high-risk railroad plan at the county level, but the follow-up tasks that require cooperation from local municipalities remain undone. A presenter said the grayed-out steps on the second and third pages do not indicate completion and that the target completion date will be changed from 2024 to the end of 2025 for both items.
Committee members asked for clarification about one line listing a goal that PWC would approve a revised plan by October 2023. County staff said the county portion of the intersection safety plan is finished and should be reflected as complete; the remaining task is outreach and completion with local municipalities. Staff also said the color coding in the quarterly-report system was used inconsistently (blue versus yellow) and that staff will correct the visual statuses in future reports.
The presenter told the committee the mismatch came from a learning curve using the quarterly-report program and that the packet will be cleaned up to reflect accurate statuses in the next quarter. No formal action was requested or taken on the report update.
