Bossier Parish School Board approves minutes, selects benefits vendor, OKs trips and votes to enter executive session

The Bossier Parish School Board on Jan. 16 approved the minutes of its Dec. 5, 2024 regular session, accepted a procurement recommendation for benefits management, approved trip requests and voted to enter executive session to discuss litigation.

The board approved the minutes following a motion by Sam Darby and a second from Robert Bertrand. Carrie Douglas, chief procurement officer, told the board four proposals were received in response to solicitation RFP 25-29; two finalists gave demonstrations and the evaluation committee recommended FFGA with a top score of 95.8. Glenn Bullard moved to accept the committee recommendation; Kent Bauchhaus seconded. The motion passed.

The board also approved routine trip requests after a motion by Sam Darby and a second from Robert Bertrand. Later the board voted to enter executive session to discuss legal strategy on three matters including: insulin pricing multidistrict litigation (MDL No. 3080, U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey), Patton v. West et al. (26th Judicial District Court for the Parish of Bossier) and Lehi et al. v. Bossier Parish School Board (U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana). Robert Bertrand moved for executive session, seconded by Eric Newman; the motion passed.

No roll-call vote tallies were recorded in the meeting transcript for the motions; the minutes entry states each motion "passed." The procurement selection will proceed with contract negotiations and any final contract terms will be presented to the board in a future meeting.
