Yolo Transit announces route expansions between Davis and Sacramento; Woodland transit center alternatives remain under review

Commissioner Andy told the Transportation Commission on Jan. 13 that Yolo Bus will expand express service between Davis and downtown Sacramento beginning Jan. 21.
Andy said the expansion increases service on Route 43 (East Davis) and Route 230 (West Davis) from one round trip per day to three and will restore Route 44 (South Davis Express) with three round trips. He also said some stops on Route 43 are being consolidated and that local service span may expand in West Sacramento.
On the Woodland Transit Center, Andy said the Yolo Transit board discussed a temporary relocation to a Costco site as one option; the board did not vote the Costco option down and continues to consider the originally proposed downtown site (Second and Court streets) as well as a redevelopment site east of downtown described in meeting remarks as “Yolano Dominic.” Andy said the Citizen Advisory Committee will meet March 3 and staff will report further at the commission’s next meeting.
He also noted regional coordination: Caltrans is conducting outreach on a statewide transit policy and a stakeholder webinar for Northern California was scheduled for the week of the meeting.
Commissioners and staff asked about stop consolidation and service details for riders; Andy said more information will be posted through transit agency communications once schedules are finalized.
