Superintendent outlines evaluation process and proposes a state-of-district report for February

Superintendent Dr. Gee presented the annual superintendent-evaluation materials and described a proposed annual "state of the district" report to present to the board in February.
Dr. Gee reviewed the evaluation rubric categories — school culture, communication, advocacy, shared leadership, priority management, transparency, leadership renewal, accountability, innovation and instructional vision — and the scoring guidelines trustees should use. He said staff and principal surveys will be made available to trustees via the administration and that consolidated survey results will be provided for use in the evaluation.
Dr. Gee proposed an annual district report to include student academic performance (drawing on midyear assessment data), extracurricular performance, facilities planning, donations and grant support, and a financial update. Trustees suggested including enrollment numbers (in-district and out-of-district) and other metrics of interest; Dr. Gee agreed to include additional details trustees request for the February presentation.
Trustees were also reminded of the procedural steps and deadlines for completing the superintendent evaluation.
