Commission updates social media, plans to join MLK walk and to host Pan-Hellenic Black History program

Communications staff said they had just received posting permissions and published an MLK walk post. Commissioners confirmed they will meet at the Concourse and noted a step-off time of 11:00 a.m.; event staff will provide refreshments and the commission's banner should be returned to event staff after the walk.
Commissioners also discussed hosting a Pan-Hellenic/Black History program, proposing the last week of February (suggested dates between Feb. 25 and 27) and reviewing the rotunda application process. Staff said there is no fee for rotunda use but recommended submitting the rotunda application by Feb. 1 so the clerk has sufficient lead time. Commissioners agreed to have staff resend the application and to coordinate with the Pan-Hellenic organizations to confirm a final date once the rotunda availability is confirmed.
Communications and events work will proceed concurrently with the awards process and equity-agenda preparation.
