James (last name not provided), staff supporting the Poverty and Homelessness Board, updated the executive committee on Jan. 16 that the strategic-plan consultant, Britney Manzo, has had a family emergency and asked for more time to complete the draft plan.
Manzo’s draft is now expected by Monday, Jan. 27. James said a PHB work group that previously reviewed earlier drafts is proposed to reconvene the week of Feb. 3 to review the consultant’s final draft and prepare recommendations for the full PHB meeting on Feb. 20. The committee discussed the possibility of an additional touchpoint after Feb. 20 if the full board requests further revisions.
Why this matters: the strategic plan will guide PHB priorities and service coordination across Lane County and its municipalities. Committee members said they expect robust discussion at the Feb. 20 meeting and noted the value of public engagement opportunities such as an open house and additional review meetings if needed.
Next steps: staff will distribute the draft to the work group upon receipt, convene the work group the week of Feb. 3, and present recommendations to the full board at its Feb. 20 meeting. Committee members suggested the work group remain prepared to reconvene if full-board feedback requires further changes.
