Cibolo council forms charter review committee, OKs donation of old fire gear and hears solid-waste consultant

The Cibolo City Council voted to form a charter review committee and approved donating obsolete fire equipment, Mayor Mark Allen said following the council's Jan. 14 meeting.

Mayor Mark Allen said the council approved formation of a charter review committee on a 7-0 vote. The committee will review the city charter and recommend any proposed changes for a citizen vote in November 2025, Allen said.

The vote to form the committee was the meeting's principal formal action. Allen summarized that the committee will "take a look at our city charter and look at the items that are currently in the city charter and determine which changes need to be made," with any recommended amendments placed before voters in November 2025.

Council members also approved a resolution authorizing the donation of old and obsolete fire hose and personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Texas Forest Service Helping Hand Program, Mayor Allen said.
