Auditor Lisa Smith asked for and received approval to publish minutes (Jan. 7, Jan. 2 and Jan. 9 work session) and to issue warrants for claims totaling $816,243.10; supervisors also approved a handwritten warrant to AT&T Mobility for $44.96 for the mental health department cell phone service that was missed in the prior claims cycle.
The board approved certificates of appointment effective Jan. 2, 2025, through Jan. 1, 2029, for multiple deputies and staff in several offices (certificates listed in the auditor’s motion). The supervisors approved hiring Jonathan Hines as a PRN corrections officer effective Dec. 15, 2024, at $21.41 per hour and authorized the auditor to issue biweekly paychecks. The board also approved the standard Title VI nondiscrimination assurances and policy statement required for recipients of federal DOT secondary‑road funding.
On boards and commissions, the board reappointed Mary Yoakam and David Kuhn to the Pioneer Cemetery Commission through Dec. 31, 2027, and reappointed Fairfield Township trustees David Franzen and Matt Franzen to terms expiring Jan. 1, 2029.
