The Sarpy County Board on Jan. 14, 2025, voted to table action on a resolution proposing to reduce the speed limit from 50 to 25 mph on sections of Capehart Frontage Road and South 68th Avenue until Jan. 20, 2025.
The item, resolution 2025-7, was placed on the agenda without an engineer present to answer technical questions. Commissioner David Klug asked that the county engineer be notified that an item should include a county engineer representative; following discussion, Commissioner Don Kelly moved to table the item for two weeks and Commissioner Jim Warren seconded the motion. The motion passed 5-0.
The board did not take substantive action on the speed limits; staff were asked to ensure an appropriate county engineer representative attends the Jan. 20 meeting to present traffic data and answer questions.
