Lyon County Planning Commission elects officers, approves minutes and unanimously grants continuances for three major development items
Summary
The Lyon County Planning Commission elected officers and approved minutes, then unanimously granted continuances to February 11, 2025 for three development items including the Silver Springs Technology Park development agreement and two Dayton Valley applications.
Audrey Allen, chairing the Lyon County Planning Commission meeting Wednesday, opened the Jan. 14 session and the commission proceeded with elections, routine approvals and action on several agenda items.
The commission approved the meeting agenda and the minutes from its Dec. 10, 2024 meeting, held votes on officers, and unanimously granted continuances on three public-hearing development items at the applicants' requests, moving each matter to the Feb. 11, 2025 Planning Commission meeting.
The votes matter because each continuance keeps the planning process on the applicants' proposed schedule and means the Planning Commission will not make substantive recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on those items until after the Feb. 11 hearing. Staff said the continuances were requested while final details—particularly development-agreement language and interdepartmental reviews—are completed.
