Big Sur Cantina ownership change approved by ALRC
Summary
The ALRC approved a new license for Sabre Tradicion Incorporated, d/b/a Big Sur Cantina at 7436 Mineral Point Road, after the applicant confirmed no changes to operations and police had no concerns.
The Alcohol License Review Committee granted a new class B combination (on-premise) license on Jan. 15 to Sabre Tradicion Incorporated, doing business as Big Sur Cantina at 7436 Mineral Point Road. The applicant, Humberto Macias, said the business will continue operating as it has since he joined the restaurant and that the change is an entity reorganization following a sale.
Macias told the committee, “what I'm planning to do is make a change in the corporation because we bought that restaurant, and we have changed the corporation. But I have been there at the restaurant since we opened.” Committee members asked about neighborhood outreach; Macias said he posted information at the premises and sent an email to the district alder but did not receive responses and no one attended the posted information session.
Miss Farley moved to grant the license and a second was recorded. Police indicated they had no outstanding concerns after a site check, and no additional questions were raised. The committee approved the item without objection.
The license will be issued following standard clerk’s office administrative steps.
