The Grandview Heights Planning Commission approved a sign permit for Bubbles Tea and Juice — proposed by Sign Vision Company — at the property listed in the application as “1255/1293 Grandview Avenue,” during its Jan. 15 meeting.
The applicant, Ashley Winderman of Sign Vision Co., presented a new illuminated awning-mounted sign for the business. Planning staff told the commission the design meets the Grandview Avenue Overlay District requirements for size, color limits and illumination: the background panel is not illuminated and only lettering and logos will be lit. The staff report recommended approval.
Commission discussion was brief. Commissioner Mark Holler asked staff to pass along a safety concern about low, flag-style fixtures near the storefront that pedestrians might bump into; staff said it would convey that request to the property owner. A motion to approve the application passed on a roll-call vote; recorded votes on the motion were recorded as Yes from Commissioner Hock, Mister Kaskowski, Commissioner Evans, Mister Holler and Chair Gentry.
The sign was approved subject to the standard permitting process; no other conditions beyond staff review of the permit were listed during the public hearing.
