The Quabbin Regional School District School Committee recorded several formal votes during its Jan. 9 meeting.
Consent agenda: The committee approved the consent agenda, which included acceptance of 13 gift cards donated in teachers’ names and designated for redistribution to families during the holiday season. The motion to approve the consent agenda was moved and seconded; the roll‑call vote recorded unanimous approval.
Policy adoptions: The committee moved to take multiple policy items off the table and adopt updated or new language for the following policy codes as presented: BHE (updated language), EFC (updated language), EHA (new), EHB (new), GBE (new), JICJ (new), KDC (new), and EBCFA (recent). The committee noted these items had been posted for 30 days before the vote. The motion passed on a roll‑call vote with all members voting yes.
Overnight DECA trip: The committee approved an emergency, time‑sensitive request for an overnight trip for students to attend the DECA state competition in Boston, Feb. 27–March 1. The administration said multiple students are participating (the superintendent said there were at least two); the motion to approve the trip passed on a roll‑call vote with all members present voting yes.
Each of the three actions was recorded in the meeting transcript and roll‑call votes were taken; the committee did not go into executive session and adjourned after the votes.
