VTrans project‑delivery bureau details programs, staffing and municipal grant challenges

Rob White, project delivery bureau director at the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans), briefed the House Transportation Committee on the bureau’s five program areas and how those groups deliver bridge, roadway, right‑of‑way and municipal projects statewide.

The bureau, White said, includes about 150 employees across structures, highway safety and design, right of way, environmental and municipal assistance. He gave staffing counts by program: structures (about 36 staff), highway safety and design (about 26), right of way (about 55), environmental (about 17) and municipal assistance (about 16). “We’re made up of five different program areas,” White said, adding that program managers will appear before the committee for deeper briefings.
