Mural agreement moved from easement to display agreement; staff to walk site with artist

Amanda Pineda, staff, updated the board Jan. 14 on the murals program: one mural agreement is pending for a property on Street, but the property owner's attorney returned the initial draft with concerns. Staff said legal revised the draft, preparing a mural easement agreement, but Pineda recommended reverting to a display/use agreement rather than an easement to avoid impeding property owner approval.
Pineda said staff will restructure the agreement to remove easement language and circulate the revised document to the owner and the board. Once the owner approves the terms, staff will forward the agreement to the artist, who is eager to begin. Pineda also asked to schedule an on‑site walk with the artist, the property owner and any board members who wish to attend so all parties can confirm the mural’s dimensional exhibit and avoid future misunderstandings about mural extent.
Ending: Pineda said she will circulate the revised agreement the next day and schedule the walkthrough (the mural exhibit is attached to the agreement), after which the agreement will be finalized and sent to the artist.
