Beach Park approves consent agenda, winter salt purchase and Cheney Avenue payment

On a motion by Trustee Gust with a second by Trustee Johnson, the board approved the consent agenda, which included the board minutes of Nov. 14 and a presented bill payment in the amount of $520,860.63, the Finance Committee report for October 2024, Resolution 2024R25 establishing regular meeting dates, and Resolution 2024R26 establishing the 2025 holiday schedule.
The board authorized purchase of up to 540 tons of rock salt from Morton Salt Company of Chicago at $83.11 per ton for the 2024–25 winter season, procured through the Lake County Cooperative Purchasing Program. Discussion noted the village is obligated to purchase 450 tons at that price and may purchase between 360 and 540 tons at the agreed price.
The board also approved pay application No. 1 to Chicago Paving Contractors Inc. for the 2024 Cheney Avenue Extension Project in the amount of $141,815.71; the payment was recommended by the Public Works Committee and endorsed by the village engineer.
Each of the above measures passed on roll-call votes called by the clerk. The board recessed without convening an executive session and adjourned at the end of the meeting.
