The Winslow Township Board of Education on Wednesday approved a set of routine administrative reports and recommendations, voting by roll call on minutes, the superintendent's report (amended), the business administrator/board secretary report, personnel items, and addenda.
The board first approved the minutes of the Dec. 11, 2024 regular meeting (open and closed session). Under advice to new board members to abstain on minutes predating their swearing-in, votes on the minutes recorded six "yes" votes and three abstentions: Yes -- Miss Dredgen; Miss Martin; Miss Peterson; Miss Pitts; Mister Thomas; Mister Shaw. Abstain -- Mister Clark; Miss Glaude; Mister McManus. The motion carried.
During consideration of the superintendent's report the board amended the motion to strike item 23 on page 6. The amendment was seconded by Mister Clark and adopted by voice vote, after which the board approved the superintendent's report as amended by roll call; the motion was recorded as carried.
The board also approved the business administrator/board secretary report (pages 7'13), the personnel report (pages 14'17) and the superintendent's addendum (page 1), each by motion and roll call; in one instance a board member recused from a specified item. The meeting record shows routine seconders (frequently Mister Clark) and roll-call confirmations for each motion. The board moved into executive session at the end of the public meeting; no public action was taken after executive session.
The meeting transcript and roll calls captured names for the votes; where the transcript did not name a mover the record notes "not specified."
