The Miami Lakes Neighborhood Improvement Committee reviewed final logistics and budget lines for an upcoming community bike ride.
A committee member reported the ride is scheduled for Saturday the 25th with registration at 8 a.m. and a staged takeoff at 8:30 a.m.; at the time of the meeting 31 participants were registered. The committee also reviewed a flyer and said event posts would be made to promote registration.
During the budget review the committee examined line items related to the event. One transcript reference listed an entry labeled “55100” associated with the pedestrian/bike-ride line. Committee members discussed clarifying that the line represents the bike-ride expense rather than a “special assessment,” and noted a per-ride budgeting figure described as $400 during the meeting.
Members agreed to leave the events line in the budget for continued monitoring and to consider a request for additional funding as part of the committee’s report to council if needed.
The committee asked staff to provide the finalized flyer and any additional promotional materials before the event so members could share them with local groups and veterans’ organizations involved with the ride.
