Select board adopts updated Bow hazard mitigation plan; committee to report annually

The Bow Select Board unanimously adopted the town’s updated hazard mitigation plan on Jan. 14, accepting a draft prepared with the Central New Hampshire Regional Planning Commission and forwarding the document to the state and FEMA for review.
The update replaces the 2018 plan with a 2025-dated document and reflects committee work over the past year and review by the state and FEMA plan-review process, the emergency management director told the board. The committee—17 volunteers who logged what the director described as more than 600 volunteer hours—will continue meeting and is required to report annually to the Select Board on progress implementing recommendations.
Select Board members thanked the committee and voted to adopt the plan and sign the enabling resolution so the town can submit the final document for state and federal approval. The board’s vote also authorizes posting the updated plan on the town website and distributing required notices.
The director said the plan’s adoption starts a continuing process of examining and implementing mitigation measures over the next five years.
