The commission likewise approved the minutes from the Dec. 4, 2024 meeting by roll call, with Commissioner Harlow recorded as abstaining and the remaining members voting aye.
On separate motions, the commission granted sign-permit approvals for two commercial cases: case A-1-2025 for Studio W at 102 S. Washington St., authorizing one projecting sign and permanent window graphics; and case A-3-2025 for 5 W. Second St., approving two non-illuminated wall signs for Hinsdale Dental Journey and Studio Giuseppe. Both sign-permit motions passed by roll call with unanimous aye votes recorded.
The commission also considered case HPC-2-2025, a preservation-incentive application for 4 E. 5th St., a locally significant 1928 residence. In two separate motions the commission: (1) approved requests for alternative bulk zoning regulations, a waiver of building-permit fees and expedited processing for the project; and (2) recommended to the village board approval of a property-tax rebate and a preservation matching grant for the owner. Both motions passed by recorded roll-call votes with all commissioners voting aye.
