Virginia Senate swears in two newly certified senators

Kanaan Srinivasan and Luther A. Cyphers III each took the oath of office administered on the Senate floor. The oath, repeated by both senators-elect, affirmed support for the U.S. Constitution and the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Virginia and committed each to "faithfully and impartially discharge all the duties incumbent upon me as a member of the Senate of Virginia, according to the best of my ability."
Clerk announcements before the oath stated that the senators-elect had been certified by the Department of Elections. The Senate presiding officer then administered the oath and the chamber offered congratulations after each swearing-in.
