Martinsville council elects president pro tem, keeps commission appointments; minutes approved

Martinsville — The Martinsville Common Council on Jan. 13 approved several organizational items for 2025, electing Councilman Phil Deckard II as president pro tem, affirming earlier commission appointments and approving minutes from its Dec. 23 meeting.
The council voted to elect Phil Deckard II after a motion nominating him was made and seconded; the chair declared Deckard II president pro tem for the coming year. Council also voted to keep its representatives to the Planning Commission, Redevelopment Commission and the Morgan County Economic Development Partnership Corporation the same as in 2024.
