Board asked to accept water system assets from Promise Land Water Improvement District No. 53

City Engineer Gary Carnahan asked the board to approve an agreement accepting water improvements from Promise Land Property Owners Water Improvement District No. 53 (formed in 2001). Carnahan said the district serves about 50 properties and that the city has operated and maintained the lines since the district's formation under an original agreement.
Carnahan said the district has paid off the debt associated with the improvements and has voted to close the district and transfer assets to city ownership. The facilities are mostly 2-inch and 6-inch water mains and fire hydrants, installed mostly with C900 PVC. Carnahan told directors the system appears to be operating normally and that none of the streets in the improvement district are on the current list of troublesome lines.
Staff placed Resolution R-2516 on the Jan. 21 agenda for formal action to accept the improvements and close out the district.
