Jefferson County Historical Commission secures marker for Blanchett Cemetery in Beaumont

The panel noted that Nona's Cemetery sits across the street from Blanchett and that separate work has been under way on Pear Orchard; Teresa said the dedication and related work reflect a community-driven effort to document and preserve the city's historic burial sites.
Commissioners praised the county commission's recent activity and credited new staff hires and experienced volunteers for accelerating research and dedications. The commission asked Teresa to pass along appreciation to Jefferson County Historical Commission staff and volunteers for their recent work.
