Council appoints Laura Spencer Coleman and Richard McCool to Historic Preservation Board

The City of Milton City Council unanimously appointed Laura Spencer Coleman and Richard McCool to the two open seats on the Historic Preservation Board.
Councilwoman Jessica Farrow made the first motion to appoint Laura Spencer Coleman; Councilman Powell seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous. Councilman Ferro moved to appoint Richard McCool to the second vacancy and Councilman Powell seconded; that vote also passed unanimously.
Both appointees addressed the council briefly. Coleman said she has practiced law in Milton since 2001 and has deep family roots in the area; McCool was cited by former mayor Wesley Meese for his restoration work and local historic advocacy. Meese, who also applied for a vacancy, declined appointment in favor of the two nominees but offered to serve as a resource to the board.
Staff noted a separate vacancy remains on the Community Improvement Board and encouraged interested residents to apply.
