City Manager (name not specified) told the work session that NAI Pensacola has provided commercial real-estate services to the city since 2014 and earlier engagements before that. The manager requested council authorize a one-year contract extension to avoid interrupting active property projects and said the city would issue a request for qualifications (RFQ) in July so the city can competitively reprocure services ahead of the contract’s expiration next January.
John Griffin, a representative of NAI Pensacola, addressed the council and described the firm’s municipal real-estate work dating back to 2003 and listed recent transactions and tasks the firm has performed for the city, including sales, purchases and support for the wastewater plant relocation and related property acquisitions.
The manager said NAI Pensacola will be eligible to compete for the RFQ; the manager asked council to permit a one-year extension while staff issues the RFQ. Council did not take a formal vote at the work session and agreed to discuss the item at the formal council meeting.
Ending: The manager will seek authorization at the formal meeting to extend NAI Pensacola’s contract for one year and to issue an RFQ in July; council will address the request at the full meeting.
