Selectmen briefed on milfoil contract increase, hazardous-waste coordination and solid-waste holiday corrections

Drew (Selectman) and a committee member joined a recent Zoom call about the milfoil-control contract and said the vendor discovered an omission in the prior contract that left out certified-mailing costs. The vendor lowered some other fees but the overall contract cost increased; the committee previously requested $10,000 via warrant article and staff said the contractor expects to make the budget work but that future years could be tight if matching funds from the state are reduced.

Staff reported corrections to the solid-waste facility holiday schedule after two typos were found (Columbus Day date and New Year’s Day weekday). The town reposted corrected hours and confirmed the changes were clerical.
Lastly, while discussing warrant-article materials, the board adjusted the wording of at least one rationale to clarify that the fire department sign cost includes installation; the board amended its motion to record that clarification when it approved the consent agenda and related items.
