Commission approves FY27 budget submission and a $146.95 invoice for Jeanne’s retirement event

The Needham Commission on Disabilities voted Oct. 21 to approve its fiscal year 2027 budget submission and separately approved a $146.95 Roche Brothers invoice to cover refreshments for a retirement event honoring a departing member.

Tatiana presented the FY27 budget submission and said the principal change was an increase in the town liaison stipend under town policy number 4-23 (listed in the meeting as "extra committee liaison"), which raised the liaison stipend from $1,500 to $3,000 and increased the commission’s budget request accordingly. Line items for education and programming, office supplies and event refreshments were described as level funded; the commission requested a $500 allocation for a featured speaker or public education programming.

Member Felix moved to approve the FY27 budget submission; Lynn seconded. The commission recorded a roll-call vote and approved the submission. Tatiana explained the submission will go to the town manager and finance committee, the town manager will present a final budget in January, and the town meeting will vote in May.

The Commission also considered an invoice for Roche Brothers in the amount of $146.95 to cover refreshments for a farewell event for Jeanne. A motion to approve the invoice passed by roll-call vote; members present voted to approve and the invoice will be processed.
