Board adopts updated seclusion and restraint policy after second reading

The policy lays out required documentation and the protocol for calling trained teams. District staff noted that Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training is available for staff and that CPI-certified teams are present in each building; the initial CPI training can range from several hours to a full day with recertification required periodically.
Board members asked whether all administrators and teachers are trained; administrators answered that many staff are trained and that training opportunities are offered annually. The policy passed by roll-call vote with unanimous approval.
