The Revere City Pocket Advisory Committee received several financial updates at its Jan. 15 meeting and discussed near‑term maintenance partnerships and a temporary planter request.

Financial updates

The chair reported that the PBD fund balance to date is $58,965.56 and that the committee previously allocated “roughly 97,100” for Wayfind signage tied to the Broadway master plan. The chair also said the city’s EV account had $10,142.20 to date; Julie, a staff member, clarified that the EV account balance at the end of December was $12,452.80 and that the amount includes recent collections from the public charging service fee.

Roca crew partnership

Committee members described a recent meeting with the nonprofit/crew program Roca on how the organization could assist with meter corridors and off‑street lots by subsidizing DPW labor. The chair said the committee is looking to bring Roca on starting April 1 and run the program until the first snow, using PBD funds under terms to be provided to the committee at a future meeting. Staff said contract details will be supplied to the committee before any funds are committed.

Shirley Ave planters

The committee considered a request for six planters and 10 flower plantings for Shirley Ave. Ira said Shirley Ave is forming a business association and that the planter expense may be temporary while the association organizes fundraising; he expected the association to help sponsor the planters. The committee recorded a motion to table the planter request pending confirmation of business‑association support; the transcript records a motion to table but does not provide a roll‑call tally.
