Senate Transportation committee introduces two bills: land surveyor filing deadline and stranded-vehicle move-over measure

At the Jan. 13 Senate Transportation Committee meeting, the committee introduced two bills without objection: a land-surveyors bill to extend a filing deadline and a measure from AAA Kansas addressing moving stranded disabled vehicles on highways.
Senator Bowers introduced RS0102 on behalf of land surveyors, saying the proposal would extend a filing deadline from 30 days to 90 days. "If you recall last year, we had a bill with the from the land surveyors. They have another bill this year they'd like to discuss and it's extending the filing deadline from 30 days to 90 days, and it is RS 0102," Senator Bowers said.
Travis Lowe, speaking for AAA Kansas and identified as with the Braden Heidner Loan Associates firm, requested introduction of RS0219, described as a measure pertaining to moving over for stranded disabled vehicles on the side of highways. "On behalf of AAA, we respectfully introduce the introduction of a bill pertaining to, moving over for stranded disabled vehicles on the side of, highways. It is RS 0219," Lowe said.
Committee chair asked if there were any objections to each bill introduction; there were none, and the chair stated each bill "will be introduced." No committee debate or votes on the merits of either bill occurred during the meeting.
Both bills were recorded as introduced and placed on file for further consideration by the committee.
