Planning commission backs special-use permit to move older home to 3243 Hall Drive

The Hall County Planning Commission on Jan. 6 voted to recommend approval of a special-use permit that would allow Maria Garcia to move a home older than seven years onto a 3.13-acre parcel at 3243 Hall Drive in District 3.

Katie Greenway, Hall County planning and zoning administrator, told the commission staff recommended approval and that a structural engineer’s report submitted with the application "states that the mobile home is suitable to move into the county." Greenway also said the site plan and other standards in the county code were met. No members of the public signed up to speak for or against the request during the meeting.

Maria Garcia, the applicant, provided her name and address for the record and declined to add details beyond staff’s summary. Commissioners moved to approve the special-use request "without conditions," and the commission chair announced the planning commission’s recommendation will be forwarded to the Hall County Board of Commissioners for final action at its public hearing on Thursday, Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. in the same room.
