Hall County work session: routine contracts, equipment purchases and staffing items recommended for consent

Several operational items were reviewed briefly during the Jan. 6 Hall County work session and commissioners indicated consent-level support to move them to the Thursday voting meeting.

Clerk of Superior Court Mark Pettit (presenter) asked the board to approve the annual renewal of a contract with GovOS, a comprehensive records-management system for the Clerk of Court Real Estate Division, for $169,000. Pettit said the renewal is included in the FY25 adopted budget and is funded by $55,000 from the General Fund and $114,000 from the Clerk's Restricted Fund; staff noted the Restricted Fund is currently underbudgeted.

Brent Holloway of Community Services and Parks presented an invitation-for-bids award (IFB 035-45) for four baseball infield groomers from Tri-State Pump & Control Inc. of Liberty, S.C., for $118,258.80; the purchase is funded by SPLOST 8 and the Parks Capital Improvement budget. Fire Rescue Chief Jerry Smith presented a sole-source contract for emergency medical pharmaceutical supplies and services with Northeast Georgia Medical Center of Gainesville with an estimated annual cost of $85,000; staff said these medications and IV fluids are budgeted in EMS operating funds.

Sheriff's Office staff requested renewal of annual maintenance for records/jail management systems with Central Square Technologies of Lake Mary, Fla., for $107,720.79; the item is included in the general fund budget. Human Resources presented an employment agreement to appoint Charles Baker as chief deputy clerk of courts; HR said the position and compensation were previously budgeted and are within the adopted budget.

Commissioners expressed no objections and directed staff to place these items on the consent agenda for formal approval at the Thursday voting meeting.
