Chamberlain Technical High School hosts campus showcase of new Magnet Academies for rising ninth-graders

Chamberlain Technical High School hosted rising ninth-grade students from feeder middle schools for a campus showcase of programs the school plans to launch in August 2026, a school staff member said.

The event offered hands-on "stations" featuring current elective offerings and demonstrations of two new Magnet Academies: a Health Science Academy and a Building Construction Academy. "We will be offering Health Science Academy and a Building Construction Academy, and students were able to visit our campus today and take a look and participate in the showcase of our current elective offerings and then the programs that we'll be launching in August 2026," the school staff member said.

Students who attended described testing multiple stations and considering new pathways. One student said, "The best part of what has today has been has been definitely the stations. And now I'm considering a lot of them because I've always wanted to do veterinary assisting. It's definitely been something that I wanna do from younger ages. But now that we were at the stations, I was kind of debating on definitely doing the Gaither Electric and cosmetology, which isn't exactly a thing I would get myself into, but I'm thinking about it. My favorite thing I learned was probably the 3 d, which was I was just that." The same student added, "And they were talking about how you could start your own business and learn about more about businesses and stuff like that."

School staff emphasized the opportunity was intended to help students decide whether to apply for seats in the Magnet Academies next year. "I hope that these students who participated in today's event got to see what wonderful things we have going on at Chamberlain High School and the opportunities that are gonna be extended to them if they choose to apply and accept a seat here or next year for the Magnet Academies and hope they got to see some of the wonderful things that we have within our students and our faculty," the school staff member said.
