"I am honored to appear before you today as a nominee for the Central Area Planning Commission," Duncan Saksdeva said in brief remarks to the committee, describing decades of residence in Los Feliz and leadership on neighborhood boards and at the Hollywood Sikh Temple.
Councilmembers who spoke in support cited his local civic experience and engagement. Councilmember Raman praised his leadership at the Hollywood Sikh Temple and said she looked forward to working with him if confirmed. "They do incredible work for the community led by Duncan among others," Raman said.
The mayor’s communication accompanying the nomination identified the appointment to the Central Los Angeles Area Planning Commission; the committee heard the nominee’s statement and took public testimony — no opposition was recorded during the hearing — before moving the nomination to the full council. The roll call recorded Bloomfield, Hutt, Nasserian, Lee and Raman voting aye; the clerk announced the item approved.
