The Tuscaloosa City Council approved General Fund Budget Revision No. 3 to purchase a vacant lot at 3204 Seventh Street, moving approximately $20,000 from the general fund contingency into a land-purchase line item.
Miss Standridge, speaking for city staff, said the property was briefed to the council in the properties committee meeting and that the purchase price is approximately $20,000. The council confirmed on the record that an appraisal had valued the lot at $20,000 before members voted to approve the budget revision.
A councilmember asked for and received confirmation that an appraisal had been completed. The motion to approve was made, seconded and adopted by voice vote. City staff referenced Mister Bobbitt as the official who will “work his magic” on the property, but Bobbitt did not speak during the item.
The council did not record additional terms of acquisition, closing timeline, or intended future use for the property during the meeting.
