Staff said ALDOT will pay for the work and the city must authorize access and coordination.
Staff noted the work will include adjusting manholes and two valves in the pavement and that ALDOT’s contractor will perform and pay for the adjustments. A committee member asked for an order‑of‑magnitude cost; one staff member replied it would be roughly $5,000 (the contract to ALDOT is reimbursable and at no cost to the city). The committee approved the authorization by voice vote.
