Kentuck board presents resolution of gratitude to Tuscaloosa after festival move to Snow Hinton Park

The resolution noted the festival was held Oct. 19–20, 2024, and that October’s event was the first time the festival took place at Snow Hinton Park. Kentuck’s board said the city’s departments were “extraordinarily helpful and supportive” in preparing the park and that the festival was “a tremendous success.”
Exa Skinner, speaking on behalf of the Kentuck board of directors, presented the printed resolution and said the board passed the resolution unanimously at its Nov. 21, 2024, meeting. The resolution thanks “the city of Tuscaloosa, the city council, and Mayor Walt Maddox for the incredible support that the festival received from the many departments of the city’s government and looks forward to future years of partnership.”
Mayor Walt Maddox and council members posed for photographs with Kentuck representatives after the presentation. The council did not take formal action on the resolution; the item was a presentation and expression of thanks from the Kentuck board.
The Kentuck Arts Center and Festival is a nonprofit that produces the Kentuck Festival of the Arts; the board’s resolution framed the October move to Snow Hinton Park as a successful partnership between the nonprofit and the city.
