Commission approves Glace Farm preliminary plat amendment removing walking trail

The Johnson City Regional Planning Commission on Jan. 14 approved an amendment to the Glace Farm preliminary plat that removes a previously depicted five-foot walking trail and instead treats that area as common open space.
Staff said the original preliminary plat, approved Oct. 10, included a 5-foot walking trail with picnic tables along lots 10 through 39; the amended plat removes that trail but retains sufficient active-space and overall open-space so the project remains in compliance with R-2B zoning requirements. Staff noted the project was originally approved with excess active space, so removing the trail does not reduce the development below required levels.
A commissioner moved to approve the amended preliminary plat; the roll call was unanimous and the motion carried.
