Franklin SSD reports move to new central office completed; sales tax collections modestly up

Dr. Eslinger, the district’s finance and administration lead, told the board that the district’s single capital project in the monthly report had reached substantial completion and that staff began moving into the new central office on Jan. 6.
Board members and administrators recognized facilities, maintenance and technology staff for the move. Dr. Snowden thanked the teams who packed and moved equipment and said technology staff had the computers and monitors working by Monday, Jan. 6.
In the finance update, Dr. Eslinger reported that January sales tax collections were up 6% month to month and that collections were running 4.1% higher year over year. The finance packet provided to board members included typical HR and financial reports.
Other operational notes given during the director’s report include: registration for the 2025–26 school year opens March 1; out-of-zone and out-of-district applications open Feb. 15 and remain available through the end of March; the deadline for filing annual statements with the ethics commission is Jan. 31; and the district’s retired staff Valentine brunch is scheduled for Feb. 13.
