Deputy Director of Field Operations Sam Ireland told the council that departments had sold surplus equipment on government auction sites and requested the surplus proceeds be deposited into the listed accounts for each department. Ireland noted a clerical error in the packet’s water and sewer account number that staff will correct with the city clerk before formal documentation.
Housing and community development director Mir Boda reported Draper Holdings Charitable Foundation donated $1,000 to the city’s Santa’s Workshop program, which the department placed into a multiyear fund to fill gift gaps and support the program’s outreach; Boda said the event distributed more than 430 gifts and over 400 books across more than 185 cars.
Police leadership (Chief Meinshine) reported on Bureau of Justice Assistance grant matters: the department received an additional $2,998 for a previously accepted memorial grant and sought authorization for the mayor and department head to sign an MOU for a subsequent Bureau of Justice grant appearing on the submitted Schedule C in the packet. Council consented to move those grant items forward for formal acceptance.
Ending: Staff will correct the account-number error for the water/sewer fund entry, prepare the necessary budget amendments and ordinances to accept donations and grant adjustments, and return the items for final legislative action.
