City staff provided a monthly enhancement project update to the committee, reporting the interior of the new office building is painted, floors are being installed and the project remains on schedule for staff to move into the new offices at the end of February.
Staff said furniture is scheduled to arrive the week of the 17th and once furniture and computers are in place the city will vacate the existing building and start demolition of the Kaven Center in early March. Work on the new Kaven Center is proceeding with rough mechanical and electrical in place and exterior veneer near completion; cold weather and snow have caused short delays for exterior veneer work.
Budget status: the presenter said the project budget is "right on schedule" and there are no extraordinary budget concerns to report. Committee members asked about parking-lot completion at the sports park (staff said it is finished except for signage and trash can installation) and about vendor costs; staff indicated stormwater, sewer and interior framing work are complete and contractors have set transformers and gas service is pending.
Ending: Staff invited questions and said another update will be provided in the next monthly report.
