WyoTech president reports enrollment, expansion plans and community engagement to Laramie City Council

Kyle Morris, president of WyoTech, told the Laramie City Council on Jan. 14 that the vocational campus in West Laramie has grown rapidly since new ownership in 2018 and is planning additional shops and student housing to meet strong industry demand.
Morris said WyoTech reopened the Laramie campus after a period of closure and local support in 2018, growing from 12 students and 12 staff to more than 1,100 students and roughly 320,000 square feet of training facilities today. He told councilors the school runs on a quarterly schedule, graduates students every three months and holds career fairs with more than 100 employers each quarter.
Morris described WyoTech as a for‑profit, accredited career school regulated by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) and the U.S. Department of Education. He noted statutory and federal standards that affect programs: the ACCSC and federal program rules require minimum graduation and placement rates (generally 70 percent), and Title IV student-aid rules limit reliance on federal loan revenue.
